Psalm: 86
Meditation
Leviticus: I know many people think the book of Leviticus to be tedious to go through – it may be but a couple of gems can be mined here. Overall the book reminds us just how intimately God wants to govern, or to participate, in our lives: they are important to Him. Here we look at the unfortunate one who must sell himself into slavery to a fellow Israelite and how he (the buyer) is to treat his new slave. Rules between Jews and Gentiles were different. The unfortunate one is to be released in the year of Jubilee no “strings”, “buts” or “whereas”s. Release from bondage, isn’t that was Easter is all about?
