Psalm: 80

Meditation

2 Thessalonians: What began in 1 Thessalonians (especially chapters 4 & 5) is carried forward here: the second coming of the Lord. The apostolic church was expecting Christ’s return, literally, every day. The just judgment of God comes in fullness at the second coming. Jesus, as Lord, will execute final judgment. We are not talking the “nice and sweet Jesus” (wherever that came from). Nice and sweet are past. Unbelievers will suffer punishment of eternal destruction.

Gospel: Matthew 6:25-34

New Testament: 2 Thess.1:1-12

Old Testament: Leviticus 19:26-37
