Psalm: 102
Meditation
Matthew: We are still on the “Sermon on the Mount”: the narrow gate versus the wide gate. Of course, the narrow gate is more difficult – it is similar to a group of people rushing a turnstile which can only accommodate one person at a time. The wide gate allows a flood of people at once. The problem is that the easier things are the more tempting it is to continue in that vein. The narrow way helps us to shake off the temporary pleasures and allows us to focus more on the eternal.
