Psalms: 129, 130

Meditation

Matthew: This chapter opens with arguably the third most familiar passages in the Bible (after the LORD’s Prayer, and the 23rd Psalm). This all sounds great (alas it is true) but it might be a different sell to the less fortunate. That is too bad for if one could thank God for his poverty, he might actually have a more blessed life. All these “blessings” don’t seem like blessings to most of us.

Gospel: Matthew 5:1-10

New Testament: Col.  3:18 – 4:18

Old Testament: Exodus 32:1-20
