Psalm: 113

Exodus: I am glad of this opportunity to revisit Exodus. The LORD had delivered the Hebrews from their slavery, which was fine as far as it went – but what about food? The people began to pine for a return to bondage because, at least there they had enough to eat. Apparently they forgot about the plagues sent upon Egypt which stripped it of its harvest. The point: the people were hungry so God gave them bread from heaven. The Hebrews call this food “manna” meaning “What is this stuff?”

Gospel: John 15:12-27

New Testament:1 Peter 2:11-25

Old Testament: Exodus 6:10-22
