Psalms: 60, 150

John: Jesus is speaking with His disciples on the night before He died. He has just told them that He will be betrayed by one of His own and then given over to sinful men to be put to death. This section, I believe, is intended to comfort them for He talks of sending them “another Counselor” and also that He would not leave them as orphans. These men have been with Jesus for three years and they have no idea what it’s like to walk on a tight rope without a net.

Gospel: John 14:18-31

New Testament:1 Peter 1:13-25

Old Testament: Exodus 15:1-21
